Just a short post to let folks know that Bill Slawski, the wizard of Google patents, has written a wonderful post in response to our own discussion of how compound words may be viewed by both human and search engine visitors.

Lo and behold, there is a Google patent which deals with this very subject and Bill has explained it beautifully. If you are a small business owner doing your company’s own SEO, Bill’s blog, SEO by the Sea, will be a very good resource for you. He goes into tremendous detail about many subjects of importance, and his commitment to educating the public about how search engines work is highly commendable.
