Can’t Leave Google+ Local Reviews on iPhones?

A question came up in SEOmoz Q&A that really surprised me. A business owner stated that he appeared to be unable to leave a review using an iPhone. Michael Borgelt and Darren Shaw kindly did a quick test of this on their devices and came to the same conclusion: there doesn’t appear to be a way yet to leave a review on an iPhone in the US or Canada.

No doubt, this is one of those issues that Google is aware of and that we will see change, but as of this moment, it appears to be the case that the multi-millions of North American iPhone owners cannot use their devices to interact in this basic manner with Google+ Local.

If anyone has any information or comments on this, I’d love to hear them.

Not only iPhones, Androids as well. AT least for me. I am the Online Marketing Manager for a Lock & Safe company and was testing to see If I could leave a review through my android and there was no link to do so.

I believe this is by design, Yelp does not allow you to leave reviews using a cell phone, either, I believe this is so that you can’t whip out your phone while you’re still in the establishment and write a scathing review. They want you to be thoughtful and not spur of the moment, so they disallow mobile reviews. Makes sense to me.
